    Converting Files
    I have my CV on my laptop with vista as a .wps file, but not everyone has vista . I need to know how to convert my file so it can be read on xp.

    Please help

    This doesn't have anything to do with Vista. The format is specified the word processing program and not by the operating system. That being said, Microsoft Works (WPS files) isn't all that popular. Most word processors will read doc files (Microsoft Word) so that is a good common format.

    This site will explain WPS files and will tell you how to convert them to "doc" files.

    All you need to do is use File>Save As then select DOC as the file type.

    You might also consider creating it as a PDF. There are free PDF writers available.

    But I also want to reiterate a point Perito made. Vista is your operating system, just as XP is an operating system. File formats have to do with the software that creates the file not the operating system.
