Sure - if the outcome of something can be influenced by two factors, then you have it. Some examples:

The distance you throw a ball is dependent on the velocity of the ball as it leaves your hand and the angle of travel relative to the ground.

The time it takes a glass of water to turn to ice in your freezer is dependent on the volume of water and the starting temperature of the water.

The time it takes for a ball to roll down an incline is dependent on the angle and length of the incline.

I'm sure you can think of others.

If I want to study the effect Yoga classes has, on the mood and the grades of students, what is dependent and what is independent? Are there 2 of 1 kind?
