what to do about my belly piercing?

So I've had my belly pierced for almost a year now and it healed and everything but still every once in a while it gets sensitive and soar. For instance right now randomly it's a bit red around the top and it hurts when I move it too much or if I lean on it too much. Is that normal or what should I do?

Your body may be reacting to the jewelry. If you have changed the jewelry to something new, it may be that the new jewelry is cheap and therefore your body is rejecting it. That happened to me. I went to a local Tattoo shop that I trusted and asked the piercers' opinion. She told me that the jewelry was cheap and my body was rejecting it. She gave me a new ring and also gave me a product called H2Ocean. I highly recommend this. It is a salt water sloution designed for piercings and tattoos to help in the healing process. It can be picked up at any local Tattoo parlor and I know Hot Topic sells it too. You might give it a try and see if that helps. If it doesn't, then I suggest talking to your local piercer.

Oh yeah in the mean time it stopped bugging.. I just think occasionally it gets irritated cause at work I half to bend a lot and carry heavy stuff and it leans on my stomach sometimes plus its pierced right where my stomach bends so it just gets bothered a lot... I just washed it with soap and water and now its not bugging. Hopefully it stays like that!:)

Best thing to wash your piercing in is a mixture of salt and warm water, try to avoid using soaps on it as this can irritate it further :)

It could be a couple of things. It could be the fact that its allergic to the type jewlery or because it's infected. Everynow and then rewipe the belly ring and belly button with warm water and rubbing alcohol
