    Native americans post revolutionary war
Starting with the end of the revolutionary war, discuss the role of native americans in the united states. Explore their continuing resistance to us federal policies and treaties . In your response be sure to examine how westward migration affected native american culture and society. Any responses are appreciated

What a tall order, that would take at least 5,000 words to even outline! Sounds like a school report or college paper. Some resisisted, some did not, some fought each other, some did not, some made treaties, some did not, Westward migration made none of the Indians happy, most did nothing, some fought tooth and nail, most where moved, some where not (plenty of nations still in Maine and Upstate NY) the migration tore apart there culture, as anyone's would be who had to keep up an moving against there own will, a tragedy, that served and ogood purpose, but once corn is popped you can't un pop it. If the native tribes and nations had not fought amougst themselves, as they did so often and with much hate for others not of there own tribe or nation, it made it esy for the US Govt to use triber against tribe , in fact that was the number one cuase of combat deaths within tribes until the 1870s. Once the squabbling died down in areas, it wa eary to push out those who remained. "A nation divied cannot stand" and "divide and conquer" the oldest stategy known to Mankind, the Roman, the HUns, the Greeks, the British, everyone used and KNew this tactic, which always works (look at the mess in Bosnia, the Ukraine and the MIddleast. Th Culture was intentionally eradicated in the 1880s-1920s by official us Gov Doctrine, and once just one generation is killed off, re-trained, forced etc, the link with the past is broken, and vain attepts to return to the old ways never works for the majority that comes after. All very sad, all very incorrect , yet it has always happened and always will somewhere in this very inperfect world.
