I am fourteen years old and have had my period for a little over a year. When I got my period this morning, it was brown and kind of like thick. There was no red in it at all. This has happened to me before, but I just wanted to know if this was normal. It is sort of starting to worry me.

It is not uncommon for periods to start as more of a brownish discharge. Some people will have it for a day or two before their period actually gets going. For some, it happens every time, for others it happens every once in awhile. If this is the case for you, it is not unusual. If you are still concerned you can check with your doctor.

I'm the same but in reverse, mine always ends up with the last 2 days being brown discharge :)
