I have a washer and dryer in my basement. I want to move them up to upper level and hook them up in a large linen closet. This was offered 15 years ago, but at that time we wanted them in the basement. How hard is this to do. Will it require licensed electrician and plumber? My home is a 3 level home, but hopefully good news is, is that the main bathroom backs onto the linen closet. Please e-mail me back

This very easy. Hopefully the sink drain line is in the wall that you plan to drain the wwashing machine. If not, you will have to open the floor. As for the electrical, you can ta into any outlet that is close, but it would be advisable to go directly to the main panel and install a designated circuit. I disagree!
Not quite as easy as The Beeve would have you believe. He wants you to discharge a washer into a 1 1/4" lavatory lateral arm. Bad idea!! Do I really have to explain why? If the stack's on the same wall you could cut in a sanitary tee, trap and standpipe in the stack and vent through the roof. Or you could tie back to the 3" toilet and either wet vent through the lavatory or install a AAV,(Air Admittance Vent.
The water could could come off the nearest hot and cold branch.

He overlooks that your dryer's set up for 220 volts and will have to have a feed run from the breaker box.

You will not need a licensed plumber or electrician as its legal to do plumbing and electrical work on your own home. All depends on how comfortable you feel doing the work yourself. Let us know and we will try to help.

I agree with posts above. You need dedicated 20 AMP circuit for washer and dryer. If electric dryer, than probably 220V outlet. If gas, you will need 1/2" gas line. Don't forget the dryer vent to the outside ! Drain hook up is tricky. Hire a professional. It is worth the money, believe me. Water hook up should not present a problem.
