    Chest freezer getting hot
I have a chest freezer, it is running in an environment of 80-85 degrees F, one side of the freezer is getting hot, it does not have cooling fins on the back.
If I could reduce the temperature of that side by either passing air, or a water jacket, would it make the freezer more efficient?
Also, is it more efficient having the freezer full, I was told by some ice bags and put them in when the freezer is low. We use a lot of ice, so it will not be wasted.
    Thanks

Yes, dispersing the heat around the freezer will make it more efficient.

No, having a freezer full of food (or ice) will not make it more efficient. A freezer full of food (or ice) will keep the food frozen longer than a freezer partially full, should you loose power.
