    94 Cougar smoking from exhaust
Why would a 94 Cougar start smoking all of a sudden. Huge amounts of thick gray/white smoke. When setting in gear, drive, car rocks a bit. Oil level is fine. Only has 61,000 miles.

White smoke indicates coolant is being burned. The usual cause is a warped aluminum head and blown head gasket, from the engine overheating.

It runs around $2,500 to machine head, repair valves, and replace head gasket.
