Ask Me Help Desk - Pregnant or not!

This would be my second child as my first was born on the 29th of January of 2008 and yes I know you can still lactate after having your first child but I have never lactated before till now, so I took two pregnancy test on the 25 of April (first responce) both came back positve showed right away, also noticed milk (lactation) that Saturday too that's what made me take the test. Made doc appt went in Monday the test came back negative then I took a cheap home test from walgreens that came back negative, then went to the doc on wednsday took a urine test at the doc office that also came back negative. Now during this time I could be from 1 week up to 4 weeks pregnet. I got my first depo shot ever on the first of April that night or the very next night me and my boyfriend had unprotected sex which he did go inside, that's why I thought I could be pregnet and I took a pregnancy test ealyer in April around the 11 or 15 and that came back negative but I also called the doc office and asked and they said most likely your not but take a nother at the end of April or biggining of may so I did that's when I got the two positive results and notice the lactation only when I squezz my breast. Then I spotted for about 2 weeks just when I wipped I would have like a dark red or light brown color on the toilet paper for the first couple days it started I would wear just 1 light tampon for the whole day just a few days other then that the next week and half or so it was only when I wipped, Now I'm very confused I know the doc test are usaully never wrong but there is also a possibility. I feel that I am this morning I felt as if I had to puck all of a sudden when getting ready for work I started coughing then started gaging I don't know what to think, and thinking of taking another test. (home test today) and may I add I also have been feeling not very hungry no apitite at times or I will crave things especially sweet food, I wanted a chocholate cheesecake browning so bad I drove myself to the mall and bought one that's kind of out of the ordinary. ALSO! My boobs are swore on and off one day they'll be sore the next they'll be fine! SEE WHY IM SO CONFUSED its all pregnancy signs but the test are NEGATIVE!! HELP!! And one more thing I also have like light cramping not hurtful just uncomfortable.

Ask your doctor about having a quantitative blood test (which will check actual hcg level and give a number) done. They may do another urine test first, but if that comes back negative, let them know about the two you had that were positive.

Are you sure you read them in the time frame required? If you look at them later, it may not give an accurate reading. The urine tests at the doctor's are often not anymore sensitive than what you can buy at the store... and qualitative blood tests (which give a positive or negative result) are not always more sensitive, but they are more accurate.

The depo shot can result in the unusual bleeding, but it wouldn't effect a pregnancy test.

Then mostly likely you are pregnant or were pregnant. Definitely take another test at home or ask about the blood test being done to confirm. Maybe try another home test in the morning and see what results you get.

OK took another home pregnancy test (first responce) came out positive called doc made another blood apt. went and did that waiting on that result but then took a clear blue test which results are supposed to stay on there for at least 24hrs its said not pregnant and then went away after two min. so this is really!! IRRITATING and want to know what's going on!! :mad: I want to have a nother one now that I'm all excited for another baby:D this is messing with my emotions.

Looks like I am not pregnant looks like blood test came back negative!! So I don't know what is going on just know I am not!
