Several tests can be done since leaks can be at the pan, the drain, the shower arm or the mixing valves. Let the area dry so you can spot the leak better when it happens. Turn the water on but catch all of it in a bucket. Did it leak or not? If yes we have a mixing valve or shower arm issue. No leak, then draw a bucket of water from another source and dump it into the pan, did it leak? What is directly under the shower, is there access?
