I just upgraded to XP profess.

For some reason my comput, is no longer recognising my broadband connection.

I did a system check and it was coming up

So XP professional has done something with my DSL connection or something with my Drivers. Im not sure.

    Any advice would be great

    Thanks

    Hi loydx,

I think you are on the right track with what you said about the drivers. The old drivers you had installed for your broadband modem were more than likely specific to the old operating system i.e. win98/2000. You will need to obtain the new XP drivers for your broadband modem and install those. This should fix the problem.

    Thanks,
    SCUD :)

Thank you scud for your reply.

In the end I had to take it to someone and got them to have a look at it and it turned out that the actual internal modem had a problem so he had to repair it.

Thanks for your help its appreciated

Under normal circumstances, upgrading to or reinstalling the latest Service Pack will resolve the Error 711 problem.
