I watched this cartoon about 20-22 years ago in Hong Kong. I think it was Japanese. Just one episode I think. Plot goes like this:
Two best friends are space travelers. Both fall in love for the same girl. One of them asked her to marry him (she agreed) but he later contracted a deadly disease from space and died. The girl contracted the same mysterious sickness too. She was only kept alive by being kept frozen. The best friend (who also loves her) went all over the universe for the cure for her. Time lapsed for many years. The best friend eventually fell in love with another girl and had a son with her (son looked just like him). He eventually found the cure from his space adventure. His son (who was a doctor) administered the cure to his dad's old lover, saved her and ended marrying her.
It was a great story, but I could not remember the name or the origin of the cartoon. Thanks for your help
