Moen Cartridge slips when handle is attached
I have replaced my Moen cartridge with the exact replacement part form a home center but it won't hold the water temp. I followed the online and written instructions exactly but after assembly if I place the handle at hot and pull it open, the handle begins to turn clockwise as gravity drags it back around to a vertical position making the water cooler. Any ideas?

Had the same problem with my new Moen kitchen faucet. When I let go of the handle it would slowly start to go down. I called the Moen rep and he told me that the cartridges are lubed with Silicon Jel and after use the "O" rings would swell a bit and hold the handle in place. Give it some time to break in. I think a few days depending upon how much it's used. If you still have a problem after some time clic k on back and tell us about it. Good luck, Tom

Well I hope this is going to read as a Thanks but I'm not so sure if it's just going in as another post in the same thread or a new thread.

Thank you - I'll give it some time then.

I agree with Tom, I had the same problem with one of faucets after I replace the cartridge, but did not wait a few days, I removed the cartridge, cleaned the O rings and installed it back, it worked fine, do as tome says if doesn't get fixed follow mine, good Luck.
