I have made some marinated cheese for my Mother and want to ship (probably 2 days)
I do know that some cheeses can be left at room temp for a while, it just ages them quicker.
These are sealed and one in in an olive oil mix and the other is is a chutney, wine rum mix. First goat and then blue.
I'm thinking about freezing them and then shipping out, to keep as cool as possible, although I don't think there would be a problem in the first place.
I checked on the web and couldn't find anything about marinated cheese.
Any opinions?

I ship any perishable food items in DRY ICE and then pack that and the food in a styrofoam box. Check out this website for more info: Dry Ice Shipping Regulations, How Much Dry Ice to Use, Containers to Ship with Dry Ice

This website makes it sound like a real big deal but it really isn't... just a little more expensive to ship.

It may also be a good idea to check with your local post office and see what they suggest.

Thank you, but do you feel it is necessary? People ship baskets of cheese and salami all the time, without dry ice. I really need to know if it will be OK for a couple days. I really can't imagine why it wouldn't, but I would like some confirmation. :confused:

I guess a lot depends on temps. Where you are and where you are sending the food... maybe?
