Replace RUUD Air Handler 10 Seer
I have a six year old Ruud Heat Pump (10 seer) with an air handler in the attic. The compressor on the heat pump failed and I had it replaced. The space was still not being cooled. I suspect that the coil in the air handler is clogged. It will cost $300 to clean and is not a guaranteed fix. I've looked for a new air handler, but can't find one that will work with the 10 seer heat punp. I have only found 13 seer and higher.

Anyone know where I can find a 10 seer compatible air handler? Thanks very much.

You can use a 13 seer airhandler as long as you get e txv valve installed.

The 13 seer air handler will come with a txv. Just make sure its for R22 and not 410A. If their going to charge you $300 to clean a coil no telling what they will charge for a change out. Get estimate from all the local dealers.

Not all 13 seer units will have a txv, Have you thought about cleaning the coil yourself? You can get coil cleaner in spray cans for $14.00

If the unit cooled before the compressor went out then it should cool now if the new compressor was properly installed. There is no reason to suspect anything since a set of refrigerant gauges in the hands of a professional will tell them and you exactly what is wrong. Nothing wrong with a physical inspection of the coil and a cleaning BUT I would want to know the true cause of the situation before I would spend any more money on problem hunting expeditions. A restricted flow rate piston, wax restriction in the capillary tube feeds or a defective expansion valve could be causing this problem and it could have also helped contribute to the failure of the original compressor.
