Breaker has to be the problem, sometimes when the trip they can still look like they are on. Or the breaker its self is going bad.
Since part of the circuit is working, seems to be the breaker is not tripped or defective.
There most likely is a loose connection, probably at one of the receptacles, would be the last working one on the circuit.
Do you know if the wire connections at the receptacles are pushed in the back of the device? Very popular for loose connections, change any of these over to wrap around the screw type connection.
Could be a bad or loose splice also. In any case you need to check each receptacle, switch, junction box, as I said starting form the last working device on the circuit.
It's not the breaker I checked them all. Like you say probably loose connection somewhere. I will check this out. Thanks
