I am trying to find this movie I saw about a year ago.. I think it stared jim carrey but it was about a man who everyday did the same thing and did it all according to his watch, but thought the whole movie it was being narrated by an older woman who was witting his fate and he ends up dying by saving a kid from getting hit by a bus... can someone please help me find the title of this movie

Hi! Jayjay30 here! I have been trying to find the title of this movie for 20 yrs! Everyone I tell about it to thinks I am crazy but I saw this movie somewhere between 1983-1987 and I was too little to read the title, and mom can't remember the title! I was soooo happy to hear that I know of my movie and that I am not crazy! I really want to know! I remember a boy and a dog named Star and they r up a hill above boys house at maybe dinner time and somehow end up in spaceship with these pink and friendly aliens. They all sing a lot and the boss guy is grumpy and smokes cigar. Think after the visit the boy and dog go home? Any help would be appeciated sooooo much!
