    The Money Pit
    Hello,

I have a legal question, I bought my house a few months ago. I noticed the carpets to be drenched one day after rain storm in master bedroom. I had a home inspection, nothing in it to say they ever had flood problems. I called a plumber, shower pan leaking in master bath, I get estiamte, also have to get estimate for tile man. They both said it had been leaking before I ever moved in, due to the water damaged wall, that the inspector said was termite chemicals. Plue the rain seeping through the walls where the shower is I'm angry, frustrated, broke and don't know what to do. Any suggestions?

If you can prove that the previous owner knew about damage that they did not tell you, it is possible to have a case on fraud, a home sale if based on pre knowledge of fraud would not be valid.

But since you had the chance to inspect the house, and hired a home inspector ( I hope they were certified, insured and bonded) may be a defense for the seller, since you had the opportunity to investigate the home.

So that also leaves you the opportunity to perhaps sue the inspector for error.

Short of that you will most likely be stuck with a home that needs major repair.
