How do you know when you &nd someone are bestfriends

When they hang out with you more than anyone else.

When you can tell each other a secret and it stays between the two of you (and neither of you blabs it to someone else). If you can't keep a secret, you flunked the best-friend test.

"Best Friend" is just a label, but basically it means, yes, you can trust them with anything, you can count on them to be there when you need them to be, and they genuinely care about you and enjoy spending time with you.

Not telling a secret is probably the best test for trust there is whether you've been friends for five minutes or for 50 years.

I am best friends with someone, and we knew we were best friends after five minutes. I've known people for 50 years that I would consider friends but wouldn't trust them with a dollar or with a secret.
