Compact toilet drain plumbing for 10" joist with 6' run.
We have two second story toilets which have plumbing that hangs below the first story ceiling level. I would like to re-plumb them so that the plumbing is located within the existing 10" joists. The current plumbing diameter is 4". One toilet is 6' from the wall where the drain travels to below the house. The other toilet is 3' from the wall where the drain travels to below the house.

I would rather not raise the heigth of the toilets. Does a compact sweep exist? I believe that I could use an offset flange and use a 3" drain instead of the current 4", but I'm not sure if those changes will get me where I need to be. Any advise?

    Thank you

What type of pipe do you have?

The pipe type for the toilet drain issue is PVC.

How about a PVC closet bend? (see image) Is that compact enough? Cheers, Tom

3" PVC pipe and fittings should fit with in 10" joist. You may or may not have to cut out existing 4" tee and replace with 4x4x3 tee, depending on how low it is relative to ceiling below.
