8 week old kitten peeing in and out of the litter box
    Hiya all,

I got a new kitten she is 8 weeks old. She has ear-mites which we are treating and we believe worms. We have an older cat he is 1yr. Our cat gets along with the kitten though he plays a bit rough at times. Our problem though lies in the fact that our kitten is peeing both inside her litter box *which is great* his litter box *again great* but also in various places around the apartment. What is going on? I really want to nip this in the butt. She has seen a vet and is healthy other than what was mentioned before. What can we do to stop this behaviour. We are using Vinegar to get rid of the smell. I don't want to scold her and I know with dogs you rub the snooter in the pee... what do you do for kittens?

No, you don't rub a dog's nose in anything, or a kitten for that matter. That just doesn't work with a cat.

If the litter box is close to the other cat's, then that may be a problem. Separate the litter boxes and make her see that and maybe it won't be a problem.

Consider that she is young, and she may start playing, then suddenly have to go and can't get to the box fast enough. You might want to make sure the boxes are in strategic places to ensure she can get to them when she needs to.
Just keep putting her in the box when you can, to get her familiar with things.

My 18 week old male himalayan kitten (not yet neutered) wizzes on piles of clothes, his cat bed, or any cloth type fabric with sides. He does not wizz on furniture, carpet or floor. He also uses the litter box. Any suggestions on why he does it and how to prevent it?

Please post this as a separate question. You won't get proper answers if you piggyback on on another thread.
