My brother just got a new PC, to replace his very old laptop. Right when he got it, the whole house's internet went very low, it took me about 10 minutes just to register + start this topic. We have 4 laptops and 3 computers connected(usually was 5 laptops 2 computers), and now it's just horrible.

I'm a gamer, and I can't play any online games, I usually get around 400-1000 ping / latency when playing.

What can I do to fix this? It seems when he turns his computer off the internet is fine.

[unsecured can mean others near you are using your signal]

How many people in house use the wirless at once?
[this could cause the drain if all are in use]

Any mobile phones or other wireless items in the house?
[this could interfere with the wireless network]

Have you called your internet provider?
[they could be experiencing server lag due to high volume or it can be technical]
