Is there a special height to drill the hole for the mixing valve for a two piece shower?

There is no hard and fast rule for setting the shower valve. We set ours at 48" up from the base. Regards, Tom

We also set ours at 48" off of base, if strictly a shower. 30-36" if tub/shower.

A two piece shower! Would that be a tub and shower. If so I goofed and MGD ( Lee) picked up on it. Let me know, Tom

I agree with all of the above responses...

Based on my own experience: We set shower or tub /shower valves as per our customer's specifications. Tall people want it a bit higher ( shower: 48" from finished floor), shorter people prefer valve to be a bit lower ( shower: 42" from finished floor ). If tub is involved, than we set it at 24-36" high with spout sitting about 8" above the edge of the tub.
