112 days since period but not pregnant
I am 24 yrs old and have been on birth control since 18 (when my period started). I was taking tri-cyclen 21. My husband and I recently decided we are going to try to have a baby:eek: (lol) So I went off the pill. The first month after I was off the pill my period came as expected (like when I was on the pill) and went as expected. It now has been 112 days since then and no period. I have taken 3 pregnancy tests and all were negative. This is bothering me extremely (thinking I can't have babies) I'm going into major depression, watching all my friends and family around me having babies and thinking I can't. Is there something wrong with me? I was reading up on thyroid problems (I have gained a lot of weight, am very tired lately, etc... and my diet and excerise is the same as always) but I had my thyroid checked by my doctor 1 yr ago and he said it was fine. So I'm not sure what to do now.

This could all be due to you coming off the pill. When was your last female exam? You know pap smear and the like?

It is important to have that done yearly.

You said recently you came off the pill. How recently?

It is normal for it to take 6 months to a year of trying before becoming pregnant. The stress of trying can cause it to be hard to become pregnant.

If you have not already, make an appointment with an OB/GYN for your yearly female check-up and bring up your concerns.

I came off the pill 142 days ago. My last pap. Was 5-6 months ago. Everything was fine as far as that goes. Is it not unusual after coming off the pill to all of a sudden not get your period for 4 months?

No, it is not unusual. Every woman's body acts differently. However, to make sure that it is okay for your body you should contact your doctor. He may want to give you a shot to start your period back up. This is not unusual either.

Hey i had the same problem for about 3 months and i took a pregnancy test and i became pregnant.it could just be that your body is so use to the pill that once you stop taking it your body goes through a chemical enbalance .but you should go to a specialist about that.
