A Inclusion in the freon system in a split unit with heat pump dose that sound right that what the tech said was wrong with it? Its runs great for about an hour then the freon pressure drops to near nothing then if you turn it off for an hour it will run great again for an hour a never ending nightmare he's says it can't be fixed and I need a new unit what do you guys think? I may no be using the correct term but I think that what he called it its basically something in the system blocking the freon and the condenser overheats.

This is very possible, I have seen several blockages mainly in older units. But if it Had a blockage it would not run for a hour. Maybe 10 or 15 minutes.

Can this be easily fixed and sometimes it dose only blow cold air for 15 min it varies 15 to maybe 30 min at most.

Depends on where and what the blockage is. If it is s piece of something then is is most likely at the coil in the basment at the freon metering device. It could also be the compressor going bad.

Non-condeseables such as water is a usual contaminant. Water and frean make an acid that's corrosive to pipe.

I'm in agreement that the likely place to find it is the TXV or metering valve.

Flushing could indeed be tried with the TXV replaced or bypassed.

A compressor going bad and pulling high amps and overheating as it runs is a normal problems with older systems. The compressor or unit will have to be replace. If the system is out of warranty and over 10 years old it may be time to get a new unit. The R22 system is still available if at this time you can only afford to replace the A/C. Good luck and make sure you trust the contractor doing the work, if not make some calls to the locals and get a second quote.
