I was incarcerated and basically forced to sign my rights over (or the cps was going to terminate them), now that I am out and doing good I want to appeal to get my rights back? How long do I have to appeal?

If you can prove that you were coerced, get a lawyer and appeal it.

However--odds are that the child has been adopted, and your odds of getting your rights back are very slim.

You NEED a lawyer to do this.

I cannot emphasize this enough.

Every state varies on law--each state is going to have their own line for appeals.

The court is going to look at what is in the best interest of the CHILD anyway.

You will NOT be able to do this without a lawyer. You don't have a CHANCE without a lawyer.

As I am sure was explained to you at the time you relinquished, signing your rights away is a FOREVER thing. In most states the ONLY way you can overturn it is to PROVE coercion.

They really didn't explain anything to me, it was either I sign my rights voluntarily and get to see my kids with the supervision of my mother or they would terminate me and I don't get to see my kids. But thank you very much for your helpful answers I will contact a lawyer.
