Hi. I'm looking for help hooking up my 5th wheel to a bulk propane cylinder (100 lb) that I use for my mobile home. I intend to leave it in one location for long periods and want to utilize the bulk tanks instead of constantly taking the 2 thirty lb tanks to refill. Can it be done and what adapters/sizes/regulators would I need to use to connect it? The rig is only 3 years old and has a regulator and hoses with the new style large thread P.O.L (I think that's what its called) connections.

You can do this barring any funky building codes in your area, you may want to check with the building department. You would most likely need to swap out the flexible rubber line to your current tanks and use a flexible copper gas pipe or a CSST depending on local codes. What kind of regulator is on the 5th wheel now, its probably reuseable.

It has a two position regulator allowing you to select from one of the two on board tanks. I believe it is reusable. Bob's correct. In my area we use soft copper with flared connections to pipe gas into a mobile home. Good luck, Tom

Call Propane supply company in your area. Not the one that refills your small BBQ tanks but the one that delivers propane on large trucks to fuel your entire house. They will tell you right away what is needed to make legal connection. In any case, I would run gas test on the trailer before connecting propane. Also, and as suggested, ask your inspector...

Since I operate in seismic area, we do not use flare copper tubing. We are required to use gas-flex connectors. Your inspector will tell you what are requirements in your area...
