Can I lay tile over marble tile
Hello I have just purchased a house that has a marble tile floor ( at least that is what it looks like, very slick). Can I install a regular tile floor( the kind that looks like concrete) over this. I also have tile under our spa tub. The tile was laid and then the tub was put in making it that much harder. If I can lay over the tile outside the tub it will be fine because the tub sits up about an inch over the tile now. The area is just in the bathroom areas so they will not be high traffic areas.. thank you

No, you should not lay ceramic tile on an existing marble floor. The ceramic tile will not adhere to the marble floor, therefore being a complete waste of time and money. Before laying the ceramic tile you must remove the existing marble floor.Once the marble floor is completely removed than it will be okay to lay the new flooring.
