I don't know much about that but I have had quite a few problems with Internet Explorer in the past so I downloaded Firefox... no more problems...

What is the webpage you get when you type in the IP address?

DNS (Domain Name Server) is "broken". DNS services are normally provided by the Internet Service Provider. You may have to talk to your provider to get it fixed.

DNS usually uses certain UDP on certain ports. If you've blocked ports using a hardware or software firewall, then it won't work. There are lots of other things that can break DNS and quite honestly, I'm not sure where to start. Can you give us more information about your system. When did this start? What precipitated the failure?
