I have a Lennox heat pump. The out side unit might come on once a month and then not come on again for another month. I changed the contact switch and the capacitor. Any thoughts

No not yet. I can hold the contact switch in and it works and blows cold air. The pipe gets cold also. But no I have not had it checked

Sounds like you might have a low voltage problem,, this is the very small tstat wire that runs from your airhandler to the outside unit, 1st check it for 24 volts where it ties into the contacter,, if nothing look very close and trace the wire, looking for chewed or broken wires, is it connected everywhere it should be,, in the furnace/airhandler, at the tstat?? Check it over and get back to us
