What happens in a hearing for terminating parental rights in Florida
My wife's ex boyfriend will be showing up in court from jail. His name is not on the birth certificate, she has never asked for child support nor has he offered. Our lawyer has never been to court on one of these hearings. The lawyer said every other case he's handled the ex always gave up rights. We want to know if we need witnesses or letters from friends and family to back up our case? Also Do we speak in the hearing or does the judge run it on his own?

And another question: if your lawyer has never been to court on one of these cases, why don't you get a different lawyer?
