    Water meter size
I have a 1" water line coming in to the house and a 5/8 " water meter (old) after the meter is 1" all the way up to my third floor apartment then it branches out to 1/2" all plumbing is new in 2004 except meter. The city is replacing meters and I have asked them to put in a 3/4" or 1" meter at this point they have refused and additionally said that it would not change anything any way. There are 6 bathrooms 3 sinks 3 washing machines 3 dishwashers and I live on the third floor we have 50lbs of water pressure at the street. So the question will a bigger meter help with low flow on the third floor?

A larger main will increase your volume but not your pressure. I can see that more volume would be desirable but your 1/2 pipes are the biggest restriction, brancuhes should have been 3/4" at least by today's standards.
