    2 Syrians, one cage?
I have recently adopted two adult female syrian hamsters who have lived in a large group of possibly 32 for a length of time without any visible signs of fighting. I am not sure of their age but they are adults.

I placed them into a cage with a tube and they went in at opposite ends and started fighting where they couldn't get round each other. I took away the tubes and they are fine again, they sleep balled up together, eat together and seem relatively happy and energetic since I removed the tubes.

I've been keeping a close eye on their behaviour and they seem fine. Will they be OK together or should I remove one?

Please help, I love them both!

Syrians are soliatry animals, they really don't like being with other animals, even those of their own kind, unless it's mating season.

They may be fine, but there's always the chance that they'll fight and they will fight to the death.

I'd separate them. It's not in their nature to be together.
