    Sewer smell
A sewer smell started coming from the bathroom sink drain. I put bleach down it and its OK for a few hours and then its back. Could my vent pipe on the roof be clogged? Help!

Pull the stopper and shine a light down the drain. There is a small rod that hair hangs up on and rots. Fish it out with a bent coathanger and flush it down with some more bleach. If you can't get the stopper out click on back and I'll give you instructions. Good luck, tom

There is a great long plastic barbed tool made just for fishing caught hair out of drains. I now use mine to prevent that from happening. I got mine in the plumbing aisle at Rite Aid, it is a "one time use" tool but I use mine over and over and don't replace it until the barbs wear down. It is just amazing how much hair can be caught in a drain without stopping the water.

Now that actually is a tool in my bag. I paid like a buck and it saves me lots of time.
