I have changed moen lav cartridges before. I stopped getting hot water in a shower and I can't pull out the old cartridge. Any ideas?

Tom,
Thanks for the info. I started putting Pb Blaster on the cartridge last night. I picked up a Moen tool this evening and the cartridge pulled out without any problem. As usual, the right tool makes the job easy.
Nothing like a company that knows it has a problem and designs a fixit tool rather than eliminating the original problem.

Great gripe, Ed! But This isn't a design flaw that Moen can correct.Quote:

The reason that the cartridge hangs up is the neoprene "O" rings.
Over time they will swell up against the valve body and make the cartridge difficult to remove. Not always but enough so Moen designed a extraction tool for the problem.
And now you know the rest of the story! Cheers, Tom
