I have been having a problem with the water pressure. The house is 2 years old and until the other day the only time the water pressure changed was when the sprinklers were on. Now when I turn on the water the pressure goes up high and them comes down low and high and low and so on and so forth. If I were to time it I would say that in a one minute span the water will cycle high and low about 7-10 times. You can even hear it when the toilet is filling up after a flush. So do I call the city or the home builders?

If you are on city water then it's a set pressure by the city. Look at the main supply pipe coming into the house. The should be Min 3/4 inch feed through the wall.

Has any neighbor had this problem?

Is there a water line booster pump there to compensate for city low water pressure if that the case?

Is this a development and more houses were added on your street/neighborhood?

Boats thinking low water pressure from the city kicked up and down by a booster pump while I'm thinking high city pressure and a faulty PRV valve,( pressure reducing Valve, (see image) Do you have one of these located where the water comes into your house? Let me know , Tom

The issue went away today and only one of my 4 neighbors had the same issue. We both thought it might be some major freeway construction that is taking place near or house (we a relatively rural). We're calling the utilities district tomorrow to see if anything was wrong. I will keep your suggestions in mind for any future problems.
