AC Comes on, blower stops, compressor still runs
Whe I turned on the AC for the first time this spring, it started and ran normal for about 10 minutes. Then the HVAC blower stopped but everything (condenser fan and compressor) keeps on running.

I turned the unit off at the t-stat waited five minutes and tried again - same thing. The blower will run if I switch the t-stat to FAN ON (as opposed to AUTO), with the AC/HEAT switched to OFF.

What ta heck is going on here?

Not sure. Inless you have a cooling fan relay going bad.

The darn blower will run all day in the FAN ON position. Soon as I try to use the AC normally, it chokes after 10 minutes. Oh well - thanks anywy. I'm going to just load up my shotgun and shoot the dadgum thing!

OK, whada got? I'm open to suggestions, but I'm not going to "replace it". I'll fix it or do without.

    So, bring it on!

Update: If I turn on the AC, set the temp to demand cool, and then set the Fan ON/AUTO switch to ON, it cools the house good. Problem with that is: The fan just runs all the time and wastes energy.

HVAC is a an older (1994) York with a round (mercury switch) Honeywell thermostat.
