I got these new capsules that are supposed to help increase Human Natural Killer Cell activity by up to 300%. The name is "Host Defense" and the brand is New Chapter Organics and it says "Made with activated organic mushrooms" I plan on taking these capsules to help boost my immune system. I was wondering if it would be OK to take these with multi-viatamins because I also take Centrum multi-vitamins everyday. I'm trying to avoid going to my doctor to ask this so if anyone can help I would appreciate it.

You can take them with a multiple vitamin but I would do away with the Centrum and get a more natural multiple vitamin.
Most vitamins sold in chain stores are poor quality.
They have fillers and binders like magnesium sterate, they do not dissolve enough ending up in the sewage.
It is best to get capsules or something that dissolves easier than hard pills.

When messing with such things as vitamins I treat them like any other medication. They don't mix well. SO make sure you get the facts about them, and do your research much like you are now.

WHY?

They give you you dose of vitamins, but if you are getting that dose from what you eat, you can upset the balance in your body. I have no really proof of this, which is why I say the word, "can". I am implying that it is possible that I'm wrong. However, I will give you this that may support my theory of just how much risk there is in messing with our vitamins and minerals.

The vitamins/minerals/herbs and such are no longer natuaral, they are concentrated prcessed "pills", in my humble opinion at least. The natural way would be to simply eat healthy, but we can't always do that, can we. I strongly urge you to ask a doctor, or some one who may understand thses things, that isn't trying to sell to you.

Food does not contain its proper nutritional value and at best most food's vitamins are synthetic.
vitamins and minerals are deficient foods because
1. our soil is lacking 80% of the minerals it once had
2. picked before ripe
3. genetically altered
4. over processed with chemicals
5. fortified with synthetic vitamins

Cheap vitamins are junk. It is worth it to buy the most natural better quality vitamins you are able to afford and try and find organic food as much as possible.
