Could you please tell me what the time limit is on additional discovery items requested.

Im representing myself on a felony battery case envolving my girlfriend. I asked for a fast and speedy trial and then asked for a recording of the period that I wrote my statement. The prosecutor kept on denying any kind of knowledge of this tape until I called off the fast and speedy trial then WOW it miracuously appears. What can I do about this??

    Hello J:

It's not as simple as that. Every state has its own rules and the feds have even a different set. So, it'll help us to help you if you explained what's going on. Since this is criminal, where's your lawyer? Are YOU making the motion or are you the recipient?

You can get discovery during the trial in some cases if they present evidence or want to present new itmes not yet presented.

The rules are iffy at best in many states open to the judges ruling
