Water coming up from shower on slab
We installed a shower drain on a slab via punching a hole in the slab that sits at ground level. The room already had a tiolet. We backfilled the hole and addded cement, but water is seeping up through the cement patch. Any suggestions?

    youHi Steve,

After you pumched a hole through the slab what did you connect the drain to or is it just draining into the soil? Regards, Tom

Yes, I connected it to the drain. I assume the water is seeping up around the PVC pipe itself or the concrete patch. FYI; The shower is not yet in use as the added bath is not completed. So the water is from ground water as the water table is very high and the slab sits at or below grade.

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Hi Steve,

If you have ground water that high you might consider installing a sump pump.
