Hi, I have had my nose done for about 1 month and a couple weeks. I had to take out my nose ring for numerous reasons including gym class, work, and cheerleading. It was probably a stupid idea to get it done in the first place, but whatever. Anyway, I kept taking it in and out for a while and no bump was ever there or anything. My friends told me that it would be a good idea for me to put in a clear retainer instead of the piercing because it would get infected if I kept taking it out. I did this, and shortly after putting in the plastic retainer, I had noticed a bump forming around the outside of my piercing. It got bigger for a while, but my mom popped it because she is a nurse, and said it was not a keloid, but simply a sac of fluid due to it being irritated. However, my question is if the plastic could have caused the bump to form. Again, it was fine with the stainless steel, but as soon as the plastic went in a bump formed. I have tried hydrogen peroxide, sea salt, dial soap, and haven't been touching it, but nothing seemed to work. After my mom popped it, it got quite smaller, but it is still there. Is it the plastic?
