Garnishment of wages by Canada Customs and Revenue
    Hello,

Could someone please tell me how much the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency is allowed to garnish for taxes owing? Right now they are taking 75%. We have 3 kids all school age and only my husband is working. With the amount they are taking I will be in foreclosure in a few months!

Sorry, but this forum deals with U.S. taxes.

However, in general, if you can proof to the tax authority that their garnishment will have a disastrous effect on your overall financial situation, they will adjust the garnishment accordingly.

Of course, had you contacted the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency and set up a payment plan that you could live with to begin with, NONE of this would have been necessary!

As indicated, this forum deals with U.S. taxes. You should discuss Canadian tax questions with a Canadian tax advisor.
