I would like to add a drian line from my bar sink to the sewage basin in my basement. Can I tap into the vent line of the basin to drain this sink? It's a 2" vent and the drain line is 2".

No! The pit vent's a dedicated vent line. Separate from the house vent system. You can tap into a lavatory drain and use its vent but since the pit vent both draws air in and expels it out it's not suitable for a drain. Regards, Tom

Thanks Tom I have another question. OK the Lav wet Vent is roughed in and now I need to tap into this line for the Bar sink so then this ties into the same vent stack as the pit vent correct?

What's wet venting the lav? The lav shouldn't have a wet vent. The lav should be the wet vent for the group draining into the pit. You should have two vents. One from the lavatory that may be revented back into the house vent system and the other from the pit that doesn't connect to anything,( that's called a dedicated vent) and goes out the roof by itself.

Now's a dandy time for you to explain, in detail, exactly how the pit's and fixtures are installed. Back to you, Tom

Speedball sorry to leave you hanging on this. Yes you are correct the Lav wet vent is for the group that drain into the pit. I understand that the pit vent needs to be dedicated now. So I need to tie into the house vent with the group that drains in the pit. That clears up my question thanks.

When you revent back into a existing house vent make sure that it's a dry vent with nothing above draining into it. Good luck, Tom
