    Sunburned Puppy
I have an all white Staffordshire Terrier. I didn't realize (until it happened) how easily she sunburns. All around her eyes are pretty burnt. I didn't think much of her napping in the yard. What can I do to make her burns more tolerable and go away faster? And what can I do to prevent them later on? I use sunscreen on her ears and nose.

Unfortunately white dogs do burn easily. You can use a lot of human sunburn medicines (I like aloe vera ones) just make sure they are natural and test them on a small area first.

Only thing to prevent is to make sure you use sunblock every time your dog goes out in the sun. There are dog hats available but personally I don't like them and neither do the dogs usually.

Thank you, I've been using sunscreen, but can't on her eyes.

Aloe vera should be okay for her eyes though?

What do you mean by her eyes?
    Her eyelids?
I'm not too sure about that sorry, you would have to check on the packaging whether it is safe... (it would say if contact with eyes flush with water etc... )

Ok weel I just found some info for you. It is safe to use aloe vera on humans eyelids so I'm assuming safe for a dog as well.

Another remedy I found was cold tea bags :)

Aw, poor baby! Sun burns are terrible. I've heard that it is okay to use suntan lotions where the fur is thinnest, the kind made for babies or all natural ones, for dogs to help prevent this from reoccurring.

There are special doggy sunscreens available which are completely safe for them, It would be the same as people putting it around their eyes though, it might run in hot weather. There would be no sweating it off issues though :)
