    Pump connection
Old pump line is 220. Its runs off a sub panel breaker at 50amps. Heavy cables.

I am going to have to spliced these cable with some kind of crimping connector??

I wonder what gauge the wire is perhaps 6 or 8? I will have to run about
70" of wire to get to the pump connection. At the pump,I must use some kind
Of crimping connection too? Because this wire is more like a cable than a wire?
    You can not twist it?

What kind of wire do you suggest

You may need to use some form of split bolt or other type of bolted connector to splice these wires. I am not sure that a large blue wire nut will accommodate two number 6's; it might. I would tape it very heavily to prevent shorts or any other unpleasant surprises. You might want to consider hiring an electrician for this project. Dealing with this much power and wires this large can be somewhat daunting, not to mention dangerous - especially when you are talking about a pump. Water and electricity are not the best of friends, and they may not appreciate your contributions to this project. I am a great believer in the do-it-yourself realm, but this one may be beyond your skill level. Don't take a chance on a potentially dangerous situation. Better safe than sorry.
