    Married living in two states
    Hi,
My wife and I are getting married and for 2009 she will be living in South Dakota and I will be living in Minnesota. How do I handle this for the state income taxes in Minnesota? (South Dakota doesn't have income taxes). Can I file MFJ my wife being a non-resident of Minnesota or do I have to file MFS for federal and State? Thank you.

Yes, file Married Filing Jointly for both federal and state, but only report the Minnesota-sourced income on the Minnesota return.
