On 4/18/2009, I accidentally got spray paint on an are of exposed aggregate surrounding my pool. I have seen comments about removing paint, but a surface such as exposed aggregate was never mentioned. I have heard everything from a spray on stripper to vegetable oil, but all seem to end with a pressure washer to remove. Do you thing these will work on exposed agg? Also, it seems to me the stuff sold at home depot is pretty wimpy, where can I get something strong enough to do the job?

The best way to remove paint form any brick or concrete is a "steam pressure washer' Its not as high a PSI and reg press washer because the wet steam is like a heat gun stripping paint.

They are getting harder and harder to find to rent simply because the newer pressure washer have much higher Psi than when the steam washers were made.

Steam with presser will eat that paint right off and no chemicals to "stain" the Crete in strippers.

What the steam does is expand the crete mircro pours with heat and expand the paint to pull out of those pours and the water lifts it from each other. That's why steam is the ticket.

I think the steam will do it but you can also try a 3M buffing wheel on an electric drill or angle grinder. I am curious how you came to your conclusion that home center strippers are wimppy, some can take your skin right off. Which ones were you thinking of?

They make some stripper, made to take the white or yellow line off the highway, ** used it for the first time today

Also most of the things people call "steam cleaners" are today really hot water pressure washers, ranging from 1000 to 4000 PSI and heat up to 280 area.

A real "steam cleaner" will be 100 to 200 PSI with real steam coming out, they are very hard to find today. Only a few companies even make them any more.
