I'm a Union Heavy Equipment Operator. Just trying to find out if it would be worth it to transfer to another state if there was a lot of work going on some where else. I'm in St. Louis and is slow.

It is slow everywhere as far as I know. I am sure somebody will answer you soon from another state..
Good luck in whatever you decide to do.
You can always check daily : monsterjobs, cragistlist or kijiji.com
Also drop in your resume at all companies that provide that position. Mail it, fax it, give it to them personally [I did all three and I landed my accounting job].
Also look at other cities that are nearby.

Have you tried the various locals outside of your area?
They would have a good idea of the work loads for their jurisdictions.
I would have to agree with Jesushelper though, work is slow for everyone. Especially union employees.
Thanks for your input guys. I plan on calling my union officials and see what they think about out of state work
