I was adopted at 16 days old. My rents won't tell me anything about my family, I just really want to find my mom. It was a closed adoption. Can anyone help me at all? Thank you for your time.

It is not legal to assist in a reunion until you are 18 years of age.

My advice is to talk to your adoptive parents about this, and get as much information as you can about your birthparents so that you CAN start a search at age 18.

If that is not soon enough, your adoptive parents may be able to start a search on your behalf.

I find it VERY hard to believe it was a completely closed adoption, unless it was an international adoption. Most adoptions in the US have been open since the mid-90s.

I'm absolutely positive that your adoptive parents have more information that you know.

So--your first step is to establish a conversation with your adoptive parents about what this means to you.
