    Divorce times two
My friend is married to two women in different states and is trying to fix things by divorcing one but he is afraid because he thinks that someway they might find out he will be sent to jail. Any advise?

Bigamy is against the law. Did he forget about the other wife- do they still talk?

There are different laws when it comes to Bigamy: see this link for information ►Fight Bigamy

He needs to get a good lawyer. It's better than hiding under a rock hoping no one finds out.

This is a legal board - please stick to legal advice.

Whether he will "do" jail time depends on the States involved and the circumstances.

Whatever is going on here the "friend" must make it right. There is no need to divorce the second wife in some States because the marriage was not valid in the first place. You cannot annul a marriage which never was - same for divorce.

Do the wives know about each other? Were these marriages for religious purposes or did he "simply" want to marry two different women?

Eventually in these cases "most of the time" one of the wives gets fed up and reports the husband to the authorities.

Is this the same friend that had allegedly had a DNA test flasified against him?

Or are both of them really you?
